History

WildBear Entertainment is the product of two distinctive yet complimentary businesses encompassing film and television production as well as media for the government, corporate and educational sectors, and stock footage supply.

Formed in 2014 by the merger of Wild Fury and Bearcage Productions – and incorporating the stock library Content Mint – the company brought together a combined domestic and international industry experience of more than fifty years.

– About Bearcage

Founded in Canberra in 1989 by Michael Tear and Serge Ou (with Nunzio Gambale coming on board in 2004) Bearcage’s production slate was characterised by narrative driven documentaries, factual series, animation, advertising, and government and corporate communications across a range of media platforms.

– About Wild Fury

Itself the product of the 2011 merger of Veronica Fury’s Brisbane-based Fury Productions and Bettina Dalton’s Sydney-based Absolutely Wild, Wild Fury’s focus was on feature and broadcast productions with particular interest in natural history and factual entertainment.

– About Content Mint

Content Mint is Australia’s leading independent provider of archive footage. Managing over one million stock footage shots captured by over fifty of the world’s best news gatherers and filmmakers, the library represents science, wildlife, landscapes, aerials, CGI, history and the arts.

Combining an exciting and diverse mix of production specialities with an established industry presence, WildBear Entertainment is a company proud of its past and passionate about its future.
