Australia After War explores the cultural, political and personal significance of Australia’s returned veterans (including nurses, artists and more) and looks at how the returned themselves experience their returns, how society responds to their return and how, over the course of more than a century, they have shaped Australian life. The series combines fascinating archival footage with personal stories of those who’ve returned, alongside commentary from leading academics and experts, such as General Sir Peter Cosgrove, Tony Briggs, Jano Caro, Mick Bainbridge, Joan Beaumont, Alistair Thompson, Marilyn Lake, Ben Quilty and Dr Jackie Huggins to name a few.
